彼得原理的英文表述如下:“In a hierarchy every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence.” 猪头般的老板有很多典型症状。比如说: 1。通讯狂热。这类的猪头把失败归咎于沟通不够,所以他会准备多台电话、多台手机、传真等等。2。纸张恐惧,或者纸张狂热。前一种猪头厌恶纸张,总是把它们尽快藏起来,因为纸张代表着他搞不定的活儿;后一种猪头囤积一切纸张,把自己埋在文件堆里,用来向世界表明:“我的活儿太多了,多到谁都搞不定。”3。自艾自怜,怀旧。这一种猪头常常回忆和怀念他旧职位上的环境和老同事老部下,认为失败是新环境、新同事新部下造成的。他不知道,真相是他自己不胜任新的位置了。 更糟糕的是,不称职的上司没有能力评判他的下属的工作绩效。也就是说,您活儿干的好坏,您的猪头老板是不知道的。他会根据您的其它表现,比如说服装是否整齐、言行是否礼貌来判定您是否胜任。在猪头老板眼中,工作的目的不再重要,重要的反倒是那些本来为了目的而设立的各种规定、仪式、表格。这就是彼得反转原理(Peter’s Inverts):Superiors in positions of competence evaluate their subordinates in terms of output.
